When you are working through grief and sorrow it is hard sometimes to be creative. Here is an idea that you can do to get your friends to help you without having to talk about your broken heart and how you are dealing with life: ask them to do a page in your creative journal! Tell them you want something from them that fits your theme, and it doesn’t have to be “fine art”, just something from them. Figure out a way to share pages, I was using a spiral bound journal so it was easy to take pages out. If you have to, you can just glue new pages in.
When every one is finished you will have a precious book made by those who love you so when you are feeling down or lonely look through your collaborative journal and feel the love of family and friends!
Years ago my friend gave me a pre-printed nature journal. After making a few entries I decided to ask friends and family for input. I carefully removed pages and gave them away with instructions to have them done by my birthday. I scanned a few pages and put them on a Word document with instructions so they knew what I was expecting.
I absolutely love the pages I got back, such creative variety and interesting stories! So I thought I would share them.
Made with colored pencils and a few blades of grass taped in
Made with watercolors, which caused the paper to buckle.
Dried Korean azalea flowers in a velum envelope.
Crayon drawing pasted onto the page.
Maple leaf rubbing done with pencil, which I sprayed with fixative. And the actual leaf, which I keep in a tissue paper pocket on the backside of the page.
Some people are very creative and are good story tellers!
The secret to a long marriage is to know when to compromise. My Dad loved these plants but my Mom did not. But they were not worth fighting over. Anyway, photo and dried flowers and leaf.
This entry was made with a coloring page she did the Christmas before.
On this page she made a collage using designer paper and hand painted paper
when she came for a visit.
My sister told me in an email about her peaches. So looked online for a photo to steal and found this one of an egg thief, I used colored pencil to make the eggs look like peaches.
I made a copy of a watercolor I did and pasted it in the journal.
Hi, my name is Naomi, I am a Christian, certified aromatherapist. I also have an Associate Degree in Bible. I looked for books about aromatherapy from a Christian point of view and didn't find any, so I wrote one, The Aromatherapy Advocate. An introductory book for Christians on aromatherapy.
I have one son whom I home schooled. I started using essential oils 10 years ago. I love the fragrances and I love the powerful benefits of using essential oils. I received my certificate about 10 years ago and have been teaching and writing about aromatherapy from a Christian perspective since then.
